The 2nd Annual Fanore Vintage Run will take place on Sunday, July 10th at 1pm.

This year we are trying to raise funds towards the purchase of a defibrillator for Fanore village plus training for volunteers. Ann Carrucan has already done a great job in raising funds for same in these difficult times and anything we can add would be greatly appreciated. Fanore is visited by many thousands every year for swimming, surfing, fishing and hill walking and a defibrillator would be a great addition to our village, especially as we are so far away from the nearest emergency services. Raffle tickets @ €2 each are on sale, now and on the day of the run, at O’Donohue’s Pub.

Last year’s run was a great success with participants from all over Clare and as far away as Longford. A big thank you to everybody who took part and hope to see you again this year.

This year’s run starts and finishes at O’Donohue’s Pub and is about 17 miles long, travelling up the Caher Valley and down Bóthar na hAillte with its spectacular views of the Connemara Hills and the Aran Islands, which delighted all participants last year (see photos on this site). Most of the course is on country lanes. Tea and sandwiches at the end in O’Donohue’s, and plaques will be given out.

Once again we look forward to your company on the day.
